Items on the agenda included a discussion about Council Rules (during Caucus), approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, a proclamation recognizing resident Mr. John R. Curry, audience participation, Council communications and reports, the Mayor’s report, department head reports and six pieces of legislation.
As you know the Meadowood roundabout is open and operational. I have received quite a bit of feedback and I wanted to share what’s being done at this point.
First a reminder… traffic IN the roundabout ALWAYS has the right of way. That being said, not everyone realizes this (especially southbound traffic on Route 91) so I urge you to proceed with caution at all times.
Thursday, October 10th through Friday, October 11th: *Expect delays due to paving* Southbound lanes are being surfaced with asphalt today. Paving at the Meadowood Drive intersection will have a short term impact to access during placement and cooling of the pavement.
Monday, September 30th – Meadowood Blvd and Ethan’s Drive will be reopened by end of day. Beginning Tuesday, October 1st – Glenwood Drive at the Darrow Road intersection will be closed to all eastbound / westbound traffic for approximately 14 days.
As you know the City of Twinsburg is in the midst of a large construction project on Route 91 and near the Glenwood Roundabout. While Council will not meet again until August 27th I wanted to provide an update. Not only as a Councilperson but as a resident I understand and share in the frustration in how long this project has taken. I reached out to City Engineer Amy Mohr asking for an update, timeline and cause of any delays. Below is her response to those questions.

The Village of Glenwillow is currently working on a project referred to as the Victoria Parkway Project (Geiss Construction Project 434K). This project sits on the border of Glenwillow and Twinsburg. There will still be a buffer of undeveloped space between the project boundaries and residential areas.
On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018, the Glenwood Drive/ Darrow Road roundabout will be restriped. The purpose of the restriping is to have the roundabout function as a single lane roundabout with the following exception: northbound and southbound traffic will have a dedicated right turn lane that must turn right after YIELDING to circulating traffic in the roundabout. Pavement markings and delineators will be used to restrict traffic from the curb lane from circulating the roundabout.
Just a reminder – there will be a Public Meeting tonight (March 6th, 2018) at 6:00 PM at the Twinsburg Government Center to discuss the Joann & Lila Place & Terrace Drive Improvements Project. This project also includes culvert replacement and resurfacing on Terrace Drive. Project is scheduled to start in March and be completed by September.
