Liberty Road Northbound Closure and Detour – September 2026

Sharing an update from the City Engineer

As progress with our Liberty Road Multipurpose Trail progresses, the northbound lane of traffic will need to be closed between Neille Lane and Post Road. The closure is expected to be in place starting the morning of Monday 9/14/2026, and be complete by end of day on Friday 9/18/2026. Detour signs will be posted at Liberty Road/Cannon Road directing detoured traffic to Darrow Road, returning to Liberty Road via Post Road. Southbound traffic on Liberty Road will not be affected.

This closure is necessary to install concrete curb along the edge of the roadway. This curb will assist with stormwater drainage, and also help protect pedestrians on the trail from traffic on Liberty Road. Following curb installation – the remainder of the trail will be constructed, additional crossings with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons will be installed, and landscaping will be completed. This multipurpose trail will be a great amenity for the City, and I appreciate your cooperation while the improvements are constructed.
