Issue 38 Rezoning – Why Is In The November Ballot?
The proposed rezoning of 2570 Post Road is intended to correct a zoning error that dates back more than 30 years. Although a home was properly permitted and built on the property in the early 1990s, the zoning map was never officially updated after the required rezoning process was left incomplete. That oversight was only recently discovered during a permit review.

The current property owners did not create this situation, nor did the current City administration or Council. This ballot issue simply provides the opportunity to complete the zoning correction through the process required by the City’s Charter.
Because the City Charter requires all zoning map changes to be approved by the voters, this proposed correction will appear on the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot. The City’s role is to provide residents with the facts about the issue and the process by which it must be considered.
