Neighbors In Need – Woodlands Relief Effort

Passing along this email I received from Mayor Scaffide today about the continuing efforts to help our neighbors recover from the devastating fire last week.

Neighbors in Need – Woodlands Relief Effort

Dear Twinsburg Community,

In the days following the devastating house explosion in neighboring Twinsburg Township, we have once again seen what makes this community so special. Residents, businesses, civic organizations, safety forces, and community partners have all asked the same important question: How can we help?

The City of Twinsburg is proud to join with the Twinsburg Rotary Club and the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce in a coordinated community effort to support those directly affected by this terrible event.

At this time, monetary donations are the most helpful form of support. Many of the displaced residents are in temporary housing and do not currently have space to store donated household items or the ability to prepare meals. Financial donations give them the flexibility to meet their most immediate needs as they begin to recover.

We also understand that, after an event like this, residents want to know their donations are being handled responsibly and through trusted local organizations. That is why the City, Rotary, and Chamber are working together to provide a simple, accountable way for our community to help.

Many of you may already be familiar with the Twinsburg Rotary Club’s flag program, through which American flags are placed throughout the community for civic holidays.

The Twinsburg Rotary Club has graciously offered to use its existing Twinsburg Flags online payment portal to accept donations for this relief effort. Donations may be made at TwinsburgFlags.com.

The Twinsburg Rotary Club has generously committed up to $2,500 to cover credit card processing fees associated with this donation effort. Because of that support, 100% of your donation will go directly to those in need.

The Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce has also generously agreed to assist by reaching out to our local business community and encouraging businesses to support this effort. Their partnership allows us to bring together residents, civic organizations, and businesses in a truly community-wide response.

This donation campaign will run from July 1 through July 15.

A variety of donation amounts will be available on the donation site, allowing residents to give at a level that is comfortable for them. Every donation, no matter the amount, is meaningful and greatly appreciated.

Twinsburg has always been a generous and caring community. In difficult moments, our residents consistently step forward to help neighbors, friends, and families in need. This effort is another opportunity for all of us to come together and show support for those impacted by this heartbreaking event.

On behalf of the City of Twinsburg, thank you to the Twinsburg Rotary Club, the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce, our safety forces, community partners, and every resident and business considering a donation. Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference.

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact the City of Twinsburg at communications@twinsburg.oh.us or call Mayor Scaffide’s Office at 330-963-6207.

Thank you for helping our neighbors in their time of need.

With sincere appreciation,
Mayor Sam Scaffide
