Clarification On ORDINANCE 118-2025
I’ve had several questions about a piece of legislation on last night’s agenda – ORDINANCE 118-2025.

ORDINANCE 118-2025
The title of the ordinance reads:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 111, “COUNCIL,” OF PART ONE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF TWINSBURG TO PROVIDE THE COUNCIL WITH AN ANNUAL CLOTHING ALLOWANCE AND THE AUTHORITY TO GRANT OUTGOING TWINSBURG ELECTED OFFICIALS A LIFETIME INDIVIDUAL FITNESS CENTER MEMBERSHIP AND/OR THEIR CITY ISSUED ELECTRONIC DEVICE.
NOTE: These are NOT new ‘benefits’.
They were formerly contained within Chapter 147 (Employees Generally) of the Codified Ordinances https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/twinsburg/latest/twinsburg_oh/0-0-0-25063#JD_147.20
This has been in there for quite some time, far longer than my 8 years on Council.
The Fitness Center membership is for the individual (not the family) and costs zero to the taxpayers.
The clothing allowance ($100 per Council person per year) is in line with other department head clothing allowances contained within.
I can tell you that to date of the ‘potential’ $700 yearly budget, Council has spent a total of $39.22 this year.
In the last 10 years, there has been an average spend of $68.94 per year for the entire Council.
I personally have spent $0 of this during my 8 years on Council.
You can read the full verbiage of the legislation here.
