Utility Flags On White Marsh Drive – March 2026

I recently saw a question from a Meadowood Resident about utility flags in the neighborhood. I reached out the City’s Engineering Department to get an answer.

Question – Utility Flags on White Marsh?

Anyone know why we have all these utility flags out on White Marsh?

Answer – Kinetic Fiber Installation

Here’s the answer I received from the City’s Engineering Department:

These are related to Kinetic Fiber internet installation.  I am still waiting for some revised drawings from them before they can start.  That portion of their install will be for Sandslwood, Meadowood, White Marsh, Waywood, Van Oaks, Trailwood, Logan, Demi, Laura, Cobblestone, Orchard Hill, North Pond and possibly Glen Eagle. 

Installs involve boring cable about 2′ deep on the house side of the sidewalks.  Small holes are dug up in the grass about every 20 feet to push this conduit through.
